The Death of Outrage

The Death Of Outrage
When most of the media, and many Americans, take the view that the President's character does not matter, and that the allegations of sexual misconduct are not serious, a corrosion of American ideals is clear.
Wiiliam Bennett served as Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy under President Bush and also served in the Regan administration. He has hard experience in politics and the points that he makes against Clinton and his administration a succinct and scathing.
Mr. Bennett did not start out as a critic of Mr. Clinton.  Noting that he considers him "among the best talents this nation has ever seen,"  Bennett was once on good terms with Clinton.
Now disillusioned with the President and his abuse of power, Bennett makes the following very convincing points:
  •  How the President's actions, far from being irrelevant to the conduct of his affairs, have severely restricted his ability to govern.
  •  The unprecedented recklessness of the Clinton administration in everything from influence peddling to sexual misconduct to alarming tactics of intimidation.
  •  How the President and his defenders have exploited the natural tolerance of the American people-and made a mockery of the rule of law.
  •  Why the Clinton scandals-from the Travel Office, to Filegate, to the Rose Law Firm billing records, to the Lewinsky Affair-are neither a creation of the tabloid press, nor independent of one another.
The Death of Outrage  is a very timely book indeed! Every night the media attempts to make those who care about the credibility and morality of the Presidency out to be puritanical witch hunters with the inevitable message at the end of "Who cares if he did it?"
If you want to read about someone who does care about American morality and the state of Presidency, this book is for you. Although the books sometimes dwells on small points for a bit too long, it is one of the most clear and compelling books against the Clinton administration
